Free Knipmode pattern

As a special Christmas gift Knipmode magazine offers a free pdf download of any pattern in their shop. It's a thank you to everyone who showed an interest in the magazine by following their blog, Facebook page or subscribing to their newsletter. All you have to do is enter the code KERST, valid until December 31.

I think it's a wonderful opportunity to check the fit of a new to you pattern company or perhaps rediscover the Knipmode patterns. The announcement was made in a video, so unfortunately Google translate can't come to the rescue for non Dutch speakers. I got some emails from foreign Knipmode fans, asking for help. So here's a quick guide to the Knipmode pattern shop.

You can scroll until you find a pattern to your liking, or search by category: vrouw (woman), bruidskleding (bridal), zwangerschap (maternity wear) and more.
When you found your pattern of choice push button Aan mandje toevoegen (add to shopping cart)
Go to winkelwagen (shopping cart) and push button betalen (payment)
If you already have an account you can now enter the code KERST and push bestelling plaatsen (place your order). If you don't have an account yet, just fill in the required name, mail, address and create a wachtwoord (password).

That's all! The newer patterns (since September 2015) all come in an extended size range (European size 34-54), older patterns come in regular and Plus sizes.Seam allowances are not included. Have fun browsing around!

  1. Thank you for the information about this free pattern! I checked out Knipmode's website using Google Chrome. When I went to their website, Chrome automatically asked me if I wanted it translated--which I did. When I clicked on a pattern to investigate further, part of the page was not translated so I right clicked on the page and then clicked on "Translate to English." Everything was translated to English. Hopefully this is helpful to other readers. BTW, I love reading your blog and seeing all of the wonderful clothes that you sew. You're inspirational. :)

    1. Good to know translation of the site works so well. From what I've heard it was the video message in which the editor announced the Christmas gift that was a bit confusing. If only Google could add subtitles! Thank you for your kind words about my blog, I'm glad you like it!

  2. Thank you for the info. I already have an account. I'm looking at jacket patterns and am considering one of four. Do you have any recommendations?

    1. Depends on the style you're looking for, Anne. Boxy, fitted, short or a longer classic blazer? I like KM 1510-18 a lot. But if you don't know what kind of fitting adjustments you need for a new brand I think a jacket with princess seams is a safe choice. Also interesting for you: KM 1402-03 comes in tall, up to 184 cm!

    2. Thank you, Marianne, for your helpful comments. I'm tempted by KM 1510-18. I really like that km1402-03 comes in a lovely long length but it's not the style I'm looking for at the moment. I rather like KM1512-24 and KM1412-14 and there were some others I've decided against now. Given your comment about princess seams the last one could be a good idea. Any thoughts about KM1412-14? I have a couple of days yet. I'm still thinking mother of the bride and am looking for a jacket that can be casual or dressy.

    3. Something went wrong! Looked good until it wanted me to pay 0.00 to PayPal. I lost the translation so not sure what!! Tried again but code no longer valid. Oh well! I have enough to be getting along with,in any case!

    4. Bummer! I just checked the comments on the Knipmode Facebook page. Some Dutch commenters could not make the code work either. It worked for me as well as for several blog and IG followers in the UK, maybe it's browser related?

  3. Should have used a visa to pay I guess. Paypal wouldn't work with this.

    1. That's weird! If you enter the code at 'coupon gebruiken' the total amount will be 0,00 euro and you won't be asked to choose a payment option!

  5. I've just ordered a pattern for a jersey tunic which is identical to a RTW dress I wore to death last summer. It'll be a simple lengthen to recreate so I'm really pleased...thank you for the tip! I can confirm what's been said above about the site being really easy to use in Chrome as it translates it for you. You also have the ability to click for "free" at the top of the payment options selection box and don't have to give any card/paypal details to complete the purchase.

As an aside...Happy New Year. I hope it's a wonderful one for you.

  6. Thanks so much Marianne :) I'm just wondering - I can't get google translate to work with the shopping cart. If you're making a new account, do you know where you put the KERST code?

    1. It looks like it depends on your browser. Look for a box 'coupon gebruiken' or 'gebruik code'. Hope it works!

  7. Hello! I know this is probably a long shot but do you have any tips for translating to English from Dutch? I'm using my first Knipmode patterns and google's translations at times are hilarious!! I'm pretty sure I can make up the pattern using a bit of common sense but wondered if you had any other advice?
